Did you hear that growling-rumbling-tumbling sound? Don’t get scared, it’s just my belly that is completely to’ up from the flo’ up from my greasy food escapade yesterday. And don’t ask me why I thought it was ok to eat pizza from a bowling alley that was most likely frozen for years and probably not-organic (ok, DEFINITELY not organic… or even made with real cheese).
I sponsored a Bex Life bowling team in a charity event on Sunday, but because Winona needed Justin to stay home with her (she’s recovering from Friday’s foot surgery) and my friend Kim (I’m not changing her name!) had the wrong date, I lost half of my team. However, the team still got our complimentary pizza and bottomless pitchers of soda. I know, I know, I didn’t have to eat it. I even packed fresh fruit in my bowling bag. But it’s been so long since I’ve indulged in bad bowling alley food, I just couldn’t resist.
What? Everyone doesn’t have their own personalized bowling bowl?
But here’s the problem – when your body gets used to clean-eating, it’s more likely to reject (violently) food that’s not so great for it. This is my dilemma this morning. Actually, this has been my dilemma about six times since I went to bed last night. You get the idea. (Insert belly gurgle here.)
Whether I’ve had too much cheap sparkling wine or seven pieces of can’t-tell-if-it’s-real pizza, I usually fix myself up with the same remedy the next day – LOTS of water and raw foods. This morning, I’m making my famous (ok, only famous in my house) S.P.A.R.K. juice for hangovers. The ingredients in this juice have all the vitamins, fiber and natural sugars perfect for curing a nasty hangover and cleaning out your icked-out system. I’m also tossing in a little extra somethin’-somethin’ from my friends at Hippie Butter to give my juice even more of a nutritional kick! Check out my Yummy Monday video for details.
PS – I do not condone eating or drinking more than your body can handle. But hey, it happens to the best of us. Stay safe! xo
PPS – Having your own ball does not make you a good bowler.
