Today marks Day 13 of my 21-day #WorkingOutSucks challenge, and yes, it still sucks. Well, forcing myself back into a regular fitness routine sucks, but everything else has been pretty sweet. For instance, my super
cute knowledgable trainer, Patrick, does not suck. In fact, he’s pretty awesome. (By the way, in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve completely given up on my resolution to stop using the word “awesome” and I’m completely ok with that.)
Before I go on, here’s some other stuff about this week that DOESN’T suck.
1. SOPA got its ass kicked. On January 18, a whole lotta freedom-loving internet users rose up and let Congress know that we’re not going to stand for censorship or an out-of-line, over-reaching government. If you don’t know what I’m talking about and you’d like to find out more, click on the black ribbon on the upper-right corner of this page.
2. My husband is on his way back from a two-week photography job in Asia, and by the time you read this he’ll be on the final leg of his trip – a flight from Tokyo to NYC – and I’ll have some relief from taking care of four stinkin’ kids by myself. (After two weeks, I’m ready to pack the kids up and send THEM to China!)
3. Winona has her first starring role in her school play tonight. (pictures coming soon to my facebook page)
4. I had a kick-ass training session with my Anytime Fitness trainer, Patrick, on Day 9. He showed me how to use some machines that I’ve never used before and then I taught him some yoga after our session. It was fun teaching yoga to a stranger again… it’s been a while.
So all this working-past-the-suck got me thinking… For the introduction to this challenge I asked you what your excuses were to NOT workout. Then during Week 1 I wanted to know WHY you workout. Now I want to know what keeps you on track when you just can’t psyche yourself into getting your sweat on. For me, it’s always been one fail-proof method – buddy power.
As a matter of fact, I didn’t even feel like vlogging this week, so a big SHOUT OUT to Winona (VeggieWinona on YouTube) for being my buddy for today’s LBF Friday video.
PS – Upon recommendation from a Bex Life follower, I’m trying these dairy-free organic peanut butter cup alternatives to Reese’s cups: Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups … Let me know if you’ve tried them or if you have an alternative that you’d like to share. I’m desperate!! xo
